Anne Longmuir and her partner Jim have a successful Colour Healing Centre at 137 Mill Road, Alfriston.
Over the past four years Anne and Jim have been able to help people with all manner of complaints from headaches through to terminal illnesses.
One of the things that has struck Anne strongly through her work is that so often she and Jim are consulted when a condition has persisted for months if not years and very often the physical symptoms is actually a sign of an underlying problem with the persons environment or diet that they simply are not aware of.
"People seem to expect that if something is bad for us it will have a health warning on it. They don't. Over the years we have seen so many people with the same physical symptoms - insomnia, headache, feeling tired all the time - that we have looked behind what is actually causing these problem. What we have found is surprising to say the least. Some would say shocking. There can be things in the home that affects us very negatively, and if we don't do something about them, sooner or later, they will start to adversely affect the health of ourselves and our families."
In her work as a colour therapist Anne has been able to help with skin complaints, allergies and chronic fatigue. Anne knows though that prevention is better than cure and so has devised an interactive seminar to help local people understand more about factors in their environment that may be contributing to feeling of low energy, general aches and pains and lack of vitality.
Many of the solutions Anne proposes in the talk have no or little cost and will create immediate benefits.
"Its all about increasing our awareness about what can and does affect us and learning what changes to make."
